CHEO’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic – June 24!
The 34th annual CHEO’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic takes place Saturday, June 24th from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the grounds at Rideau Hall.
This special day is put on by the CHEO Foundation as a thank you to our wonderful community for all of the incredible support CHEO receives throughout the year. It’s a family event that is packed full of super fun activities for kids of all ages.
- The day begins with a celebrity pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. where pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee are offered for $5 per adult and $3 per child and served up by local celebrities.
- Kids can bring their stuffed animals to the B*A*S*H Tent (Bear Ambulatory Surgical Hospital) and volunteers from CHEO will make sure to fix any boo-boo that local stuffies sustained.
- There’s a parade of mascots at 9:30 a.m., carnival games, music and entertainment, children’s rides, clowns, face painting and free tours of the Governor General’s residence are also on the agenda, as is the popular Build a Buddy tent, where for $20 children can create their very own teddy bear. All festivities end at 2 p.m.
- ATM on site.
No parking on site: Because there is no parking available on site, free parking and shuttles will be available at the CHEO, 401 Smyth Rd. Lots C and D starting at 7 a.m. The last returning shuttle bus leaves at the grounds at 2:15 p.m. There is also free parking at NRC, 100 Sussex Dr. which is just a short walk to the picnic.
Admission is free, as are most of the activities thanks to the generous support of our corporate Good Bears, Bell, Giant Tiger, PCL Construction and the Canadian Forces Health Services and Rideau Hall. Nominal fees may be charged for some foods and refreshments.
