Big winners announced in CHEO’s Dream of a Lifetime Lottery

Earlier today the draws were made for the first and second prizes in the 2013 edition of CHEO’s Dream of a Lifetime Lottery. The winner of the first ever Dream of a Lifetime 50/50 Cash Draw was also announced.

The winners were announced during the CTV News at Noon and we congratulate Alexander Bill, ticket number 048577, who has won the Grand Prize package that is worth over $1.8 million and includes the fully furnished and decorated Minto Dream Home with all furnishings by La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, $100,000 in cash, a 2014 Lincoln MKS AWD from Jim Keay Ford Lincoln, house cleaning for a year from The Maids Home Services, and $5,000 in groceries from Farm Boy.

Guy Norwegian, ticket number 004543 has won the second prize that is worth over $170,000 and includes $100,000 cash, a 2014 Ford Mustang GT Convertible from Jim Keay Ford Lincoln, a seven day Eastern or Western Caribbean Cruise for two from Destination Anywhere, and a $10,000 Gift Certificate from Jubilee Fine Jewelers.

The winner of the 50/50 Cash Draw is Aurel Vuia, ticket number 627035. The jackpot reached a total of $935,954 which means Aural Vuia takes home $467,977.

A list of all winning ticket numbers will be printed in the Ottawa Citizen and Le Droit on Friday, January 10th, 2014. Ticket holders can also check their tickets online at www.dreamofalifetime.ca as of 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 9th. A complete list of all winning numbers will also be available on the web site. All winners will receive a confirmation letter from KPMG within two weeks outlining how to claim their prize.

The 2013 Dream of a Lifetime Lottery set a new record for money raised with over $2.8 million going to help the patients and families who need CHEO.
