Please tune-in on Thursday, May 3rd for Astral Media’s National Day of Caring Radiothon. From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. 106.9 The Bear, Boom 99.7, and Star 96 will be sharing touching stories form the patients and families who rely on CHEO’s doctors, nurses and staff to help them through their medical challenges. |

Tune into Y101.1 FM for their 14th annual Country Cares Challenge to learn about some of the children who visit CHEO. On Thursday, June 2nd Y101 will broadcast LIVE from the CHEO cafeteria and share the stories of brave patients, caring hospital staff and families just like yours. Help Y101 make a difference in the lives of sick children at CHEO, by calling the Papa Jack Popcorn phone line during the Radiothon or by making an online donation powered by Rideau Auctions at Y101.fm.

Tune in to the 30th edition of the CHEO Telethon on CTV this June 8th and 9th, 2013. 29 years ago the CHEO Foundation joined the Children’s Miracle Network and the CHEO Telethon was born. Its 24 hours of television dedicated to the health of our children and youth that truly has become one of the region’s most important summer traditions. Patients, families, and hospital staff bring you into their lives as they deal with medical challenges that test the human spirit and show how courageous our young children can be.
During the telethon CHEO’s family- centered care will be on display as the doctors, nurses and staff explain how having a sick or injured child affects the whole family, and what must be done to ensure every family member is taken care of. You will also hear about some of the incredible research being done at the CHEO Research Institute as the scientists and researchers look for answers and cures for a multitude of diseases.
Your support of the CHEO Telethon will help provide life-saving equipment, insure that life-saving research continues, and help make your pediatric hospital the best it can be.
We can’t do it without your help so please watch, call and donate. The CHEO Telethon on CTV runs from 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 8th to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 9th.

| 2013 Teddy Bears' Picnic |

The Teddy Bears' Picnic has become a family tradition unlike any other as kids, parents, and grandparents alike all head down to The Governor General's residence at Rideau Hall for a day of family activities including the always popular B*A*S*H Tent and Build-A-Buddy. There will be a celebrity pancake breakfast running from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee are $3 for adults and $2 for children. The B*A*S*H Tent (Bear Ambulatory Surgical Hospital) officially opens at 9 a.m. Children are invited to bring their teddy bears and other stuffed animals for check ups, minor repairs and a visit to the dentist. CHEO Bear will lead the parade of mascots at 9:30 a.m. Admission and most of the activities are free thanks to support from corporate Good Bears like Bell, TD Canada Trust and Canadian Forces Health Services and Rideau Hall. Nominal fees are charged for some games, rides, food and refreshments.
