CN Cycle
Canadian War Museum

The CN Cycle for CHEO is a fun, non-competitive event that offers a wide range of cycling (15K, 35K, 70K) and walking (2K, 5K) routes for people of all ages and abilities. Our fully-supported urban cycling routes will be closed to traffic and will offer a unique opportunity for individuals, groups and families to safely cycle along Ottawa’s most scenic corridors, including the scenic Ottawa River and Aviation Parkways and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Rideau Canal with its renowned NCC tulip beds.

All events begin and end at the Canadian War Museum with post-event activities taking place on the adjacent grounds at LeBreton Flats. Each registered participant will be issued their own numbered bib which is their ticket to enjoy complimentary food and beverages, children’s activities and entertainment for people of all ages.

Music for Romantics
Coro Vivo Ottawa

Join Coro Vivo for this performance of some of Europe’s best choral compositions of the XlX century. This program will showcase the music of composers such as Brahms and Schubert whose compositions defined an era in music. The Choir will be accompanied by Louise Léveillé, playing piano, on Friday and Saturday, May 11at 8 p.m., and Sunday, May 12, at 2:30 p.m., at Tabaret Hall, University of Ottawa (550 Cumberland Street). Tickets are $20 for adults, and free for children 14 and under. Proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

CHEO Kids Radiothon

Three Astral radio stations – 106.9 The Bear, 99.7 BOOM and Star 96 (Pembroke) will be broadcasting a one day radiothon from CHEO’s cafeteria on Thursday, May 16 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Leading up to the Radiothon, the stations will begin a promotional campaign to raise awareness for the day to encourage listeners to donate to CHEO. Funds raised from the radiothons at CHEO will go towards the CHEO Telethon, June 8th and 9th.

21st Annual CHEO BBQ
Potvin Arena

The 21st Annual CHEO BBQ will be held on Saturday, June 8, at the Potvin Arena, 813 Shefford Road in Gloucester from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Entertainment includes, a beach volleyball tournament and ultimate/frisbee tournament, plus a new 5km family walk around the streets surrounding the park presented by RBC. The Club Optimiste St-Albert invites you to their Walk-a-Thon in support of the oncology Department at CHEO on Saturday, June 15. Walk begins at 8 a.m. at the Community Centre in St-Albert and will take you through the Cheese Factory, towards Crysler up to the Firehall back by County Road 13 and back to the start. The Tim Hortons Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival is an annual three-day festival held at Mooney’s Bay Park from Friday June 20 to Sunday, June 23. Teddy Bears' Picnic
Rideau Hall

Every teddy bear who’s been good is sure of a treat at the 30th Annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Saturday, June 22 at Rideau Hall, the Governor General’s Residence. The day will kick off at 8 a.m. with a Celebrity Pancake breakfast. Breakfast is $3 for adults and $2 for children. The day will feature continuous stage entertainment, rides, games, and the B*A*S*H* (Bear Ambulatory Surgical Hospital) tent. Build-A-Buddy is an activity where you make your own bear including stuffing, dressing and naming it for a fee of $15. Admission to the Picnic is FREE. CHEO and the Foundation want to say thank you to a supportive community.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no parking on site. A shuttle service is available from the NRC from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Last shuttle bus from the NRC leaves at 2:15 p.m. and the last shuttle bus leaving from Rideau Hall is at 3:15 p.m.

Hellenic Community Centre

The Hellenic (Greek) Community of Ottawa invites you to their 22nd annual family walkathon in support of CHEO on the morning of Sunday, September 22nd. Join in the fun!... beginning at the Hellenic Meeting & Reception Centre (1315 Prince of Wales Drive in Ottawa), your choice of the 4km or 10km route will take you along the scenic Colonel By Drive on the Rideau Canal pathways, and back to the original start. Checkpoint refreshment stations along the route and safety vehicles monitor the route. After-Party: enjoy free music, face painting & a generous give-away prize draw for participants; BBQ at a minimum cost “for CHEO.

Sears Great Canadian Run

Join the Sears Great Canadian Run on October 5, in support of kids with cancer. The start line will begin at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum and will end in Montebello. The run is a 60K or 100K. Every teammate must raise a minimum of $500.00 to participate in the run. Proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario.
