During the 2016 Giving Back In Our Community campaign, LCBO staff invited customers to add a $2, $5 or $10 donation to their purchase. Donation boxes were also available at LCBO check-out counters.

The funds raised for CHEO during the 2016 campaign will help the hospital purchase a new fleet of patient monitors and support life-saving research that is happening at the CHEO Research Institute.

“Everyone at CHEO is thankful for the efforts of the community-minded staff at the LCBO and the generosity of their customers,” said Kevin Keohane, President and CEO of the CHEO Foundation. “The Giving Back In Our Community campaign has a tangible impact on the families that need CHEO. We are thankful to be part of this fundraising initiative.”

“LCBO’s generous customers and committed staff truly embodied the notion of ‘giving back’ by raising a new record for CHEO during the December 2016 Giving Back In Our Community campaign in our stores,” said George Soleas, President and CEO, LCBO. “This December, we raised a total of $5.6 million benefitting Ontario’s four regional children’s hospitals, including CHEO, and MADD Canada. Together, we are making an impact in the areas of alcohol-related education, harm reduction and research for babies, children and youth across Ontario.”
