Registration is now up and running for RBC Race for The Kids. Go further for youth mental health.

OTTAWA – 05/24/2017 – The National Capital Region’s newest running event, RBC Race for the Kids, will take place in Ottawa on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Wesley Clover Parks, 401 Corkstown Road.

Participants can now register at for one of three running events that will take them through beautiful Wesley Clover Parks – an innovative four-season outdoor recreation and learning hub located in the National Capital Greenbelt that encircles the City of Ottawa.

As part of RBC’s global race series, RBC Race for the Kids in Ottawa includes a 2K, 5K and 10K all terrain walk or run in support of youth mental health programs at CHEO.

“We are absolutely thrilled to see the response since registration opened on May 8th,” said Tina Sarellas, Regional President, RBC Royal Bank. “We already have over 200 RBCers registered to participate and they will be encouraging their friends and family to join us. We’re hopeful residents of the National Capital Region and their families will see this as a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the beauty of Wesley Clover Parks, while also raising funds to support better access to care for the thousands of young people who are struggling with their mental health.”

“Last year, the CHEO emergency department saw over 3,100 children in need of mental health care. The need is great and that’s why we encourage participants to do their own fundraising by reaching out to their networks and asking for pledges” explains Kevin Keohane, President and CEO of the CHEO Foundation. “We want to thank everyone at RBC because by choosing to support the mental health programs at CHEO, they will help reduce those wait times.”

Since its launch in 2008, RBC Race for the Kids has raised over $27.9 million for children’s charities around the globe. With the addition of this event in Ottawa, there are now 15 cities in eight different countries that host and benefit from an RBC Race for the Kids event.
